Hey there 2nd graders! Today for Read Aloud we are going to do something that I call reading around the room. In our classrooms, we’ve got bins, and bins, and bins of books. And how do you know which ones you want to read? One of the ways you find is we do Read Alouds. You get to say, “Oh! Yeah! That was an interesting book! I’d like to read more of those!” Or you could say, “Hmmm . . . that book . . . not to my taste. Maybe I’ll like the next one better.” If you like it, let your teachers know and the next time we deliver books, maybe we’ll be able to get a copy of that book for you. Or, if you go to the library, you can order books from the library these days, you know. Maybe you could get one from the library.

So. Today’s book is called Ling & Ting Share a Birthday. It’s one of my favorites and I hope you enjoy it, too.
