So much Turkish Delight!
We need to add fast.
Luckily, now we know what to do. Start by finding numbers that add up to ten. Then add the extras. That way we are likely to solve the problems quickly and correctly!
Here is an example…
That is a lot of Turkish Delight!
And we can add the boxes up lickety-split by finding tens first. We know that 9 + 1 is the same as 10, so let’s mark that one.
And we know that 6 + 4 is the same as 10. Let’s mark that one, too.
So that is two 10s!! And we still have 4 more. So that is 24! MEOW!!
6 + 4 + 4 + 9 + 1 = 24
10 + 10 + 4 = 24
