Hi second graders. Today we’ll read another comic. This one is called Luke On The Loose. It’s a comic that takes place in New York City and pigeons are a big part of the story! So, it’s kind of the perfect book for us.
In the Benny and Penny books a lot of story is told by the conversations the kids are having with each other. In this book, the pictures tell most of the story. You may find that it is hard to know which panel I am reading. If you get lost on the page, don’t worry, just pause the video and see if you can figure out which panel I’m on.
Luke, the main character of this story, will run across the Brooklyn Bridge. We will study this bridge later in the school year. It is a magnificent structure, that Brooklyn Bridge. Have you ever walked over it?
